Calling all young writers grades K-4! Join us for the FREE Virtual 2023 WETA PBS Kids Writers Workshop. Award-winning children’s author/illustrator Lulu Delacre will share her experiences creating stories and offer tips for inventing the best stories ever.

Rules and Prizes
Contest is open to children in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th grades who live in DC, Maryland or Northern Virginia. All entries must be postmarked by April 21.
There will be three winners at each grade level; First, second and third place winners.
First place winners at each grade level will have their stories made into a hardcover book! See rules below for information on prizes.
How to Enter
Entries can be submitted one of two ways:
- Scanning your story and the completed 2023 PBS Kids Writers Contest Entry Form, and emailing both to outreach@weta.org,
or
- Mailing a copy of your story with the completed 2023 PBS Kids Writers Contest Entry to the WETA headquarters mailroom at: WETA PBS Kids Writers Contest, 3939 Campbell Avenue, Arlington, VA 22206
